In Africa, real estate education and academic training is sadly referred to as a highly luxurious good. Many young talented academics lack the means to enrol for academic programs. Furthermore, the amount of time and energy that often has to be brought up by young Africans for making ends meet directly influences their academic capacity. Therefore, the foundation’s goal is to offer these young talents a monetary safety net to be spent for course fees, accommodation, research material etc., in order to let them be able to fully concentrate on their education and research.
In 2010, Elijo Hasen Beriso and Richard Manirakiza – both political refugees from Burundi and Ethiopia – were accepted at Ardhi University (Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) for a masters program. The foundation now gladly sponsors both students, as it was convinced by their talent and motivation. From October 2011, Niyokwizigira Jackson was sponsored for a Masters Degree in Urban Planning and Management at Ardhi University. Also at Ardhi University and pursuing a Master in Land Management, Frank Nyanda has been sponsored by the foundation for a two year program from 2011.
After sponsoring in 2011, Solomon Alinaitwe gets gladly sponsored again by the foundation for 2012 for his Master studies in Real Estate. Elina David gets sponsored by the foundation for the academic program of Property Studies at Polytechnic of Namibia for 2012. Faoziah Gamu is being sponsored for her PhD program in Real Estate Investment at University of Ulster, Northern Ireland, UK.
