For their academic careers and network, it is important that African researchers present papers at AfRES conferences and/or other conferences organised by partner societies worldwide. Budgets of universities for conference participation often do not allow researchers to exchange their academic work with colleagues from other universities. African real estate researchers can apply for a travel grant not later than three months before the opening of the conference. Hence, this early deadline will enable recipients to book cheaper flights and accommodation well ahead of time of the conference. In the application the researcher must give information on estimated transport and hotel costs and proof that the university is not willing or able to cover the costs of the conference participation.
